Connecting with friends in the PlexiDrone community lets you gain access to the wealth of knowledge, advice, and ideas that a community can offer. Maybe you need advice on attaching a particular camera to PlexiDrone, or you might have an incredible idea for a brand new custom payload. Connecting with members of the community can get you the support, answers, and resources needed for your work, independent projects and hobbies faster.
The types of members you can connect with on the PlexiDrone Cloud include:
- PlexiDrone customers
- Members of the core PlexiDrone development team
- Independent PlexiDrone developers
- DreamQii founders
Updating the community members you have chosen to connect with is simple with features built for sending friend requests, receiving friend requests, sending messages, and sharing media. There are a few ways you can grow your network on the PlexiDrone Cloud, but for now we will explain just the two options for sending out friend requests.
Option 1: Explore the PlexiDrone Community
You can search for someone specific, or scroll through the list of active members to add as friends. The "Add Friend" button is visibly highlighted in blue.
If you made an accidental request, the "Cancel Friendship" button takes place of the "Add Friend" button.
Option 2: Add a Friend While Visiting their Profile
If you are visiting a community member's profile, you can also send them a friend request by clicking the "Add Friend" button directly beneath their public profile photo. Again, if you've accidentally sent them a friendship request, you can always click the "cancel friendship" button immediately after.
If someone sent you a request then you will be notified via email as well as through your account page. The email would contain a link leading you to the Requests section under the Friends portion in your account page.
To get there via email, simply follow the link, which would look like this:
To get there via web browser first navigate to "My Account."
Then, click/tap on "Friends" icon.
There you will find a link labelled "Requests". Click/Tap on that link.
This will take you to the view shown below where you can accept or reject friendship requests. The "Accept" button is visibly highlighted blue.
To view your Friend List, first log in then navigate to "My Account." Have trouble logging in? Click here.
Then, from your "My Account" page, click/tap on icon link labelled "Friends."
You will then be taken to a view where you can easily see all friends in your network. You can also use this page to quickly link to a friends' profile or cancel a friendship.
When viewing your friend list you have to option to cancel whichever friendships you no longer wish to have.
Simply hit "Cancel Friendship" if so desired.
If you view a profile of one of your friends (see above for how to view friends' profiles) then you can post a public message to that person. The message will be seen on their public profile and will be your latest status update.
When you hit "Public Message" you'll be redirected message field box, which will automatically create the tag for the person you are directing your message towards. Enter your message in the box.
When done writing your message hit "Post Update" to the bottom right of the message field box.
